University of Surrey

The University of Surrey is one of the UK's leading professional, scientific and technological universities. Since it was established in 1966, Surrey has increased its expertise from science, engineering and technology to a breadth of other areas in which it excels including Management , Human Sciences and Arts. All Departments offer undergraduate and taught and research postgraduate courses. The Surrey International Study Centre will be opening in September 2007 and this will offer foundation year programmes leading to a wide range of the University's undergraduate courses.

Due to its strong links with industry and the applied nature of the courses, Surrey is also consistently in the top 5 UK universities for graduate employment.

The University is situated on a beautiful, safe campus just 40 minutes by train south of London and close to Heathrow and Gatwick airports.

Surrey is pleased to be able to guarantee all single international students a place in accommodation for the normal duration of their course (EU students should contact the University for further details). All university rooms are grouped around a kitchen/dining area, some have en-suite facilities and some share bathrooms. All rooms have free, broadband internet connections and both mixed and single sex accommodation is available. Surrey's campus houses a Students' Union (USSU) and a range of recreational, sporting, arts and welfare facilities. USSU is one of the country's largest Students' Unions and houses several food outlets and bars. It holds weekly market stalls and a variety of themed club events including international.

Finally the University is proud to have a long tradition of welcoming overseas students and of the 8,000 full time students 2,700 are international students from over 130 different countries.
