- 1. Which universities can I apply to through GEC?

- 2. Can GEC guarantee my visa?
- GEC has been placing students in the UK for almost 10 years and our staff have extensive experience in understanding the application process. We can certainly advise you as to the best way your application needs to be presented in order for you to have the best chance of success in your visa application. All students are reminded that the British Government is happy to issue your visa so long as you meet the specific criteria laid down by the British Immigration authorities. Visas are issued by the Government of the United Kingdom and the British High Commission / Embassies work as representatives of the Government in your country.

- This depends on whether you are applying for undergraduate or postgraduate studies, click here for a general guide to costs.
- 4. How much will it cost me to access GEC's services?
- This depends on which country you are applying from. Most of our offices will make a small charge to cover expenses such as courier costs, telephone charges etc. Please contact your local GEC office to find the full details. Click here to find your local office.
- 5. Can GEC organise my travel arrangements?
- GEC usually does not get involved in travel arrangements. However, in many countries we have preferential rates with airlines or travel agents. Please contact your local office for full details. Click here to find your local office.
- 6. Does GEC only place students in the UK?
- No. GEC has partner Universities / Institutions in the following countries:
- The UK
- The USA
- Hungary
- Cyprus
In addition, our UK partners have campuses in the UAE, Malaysia and China.
- 7. Will GEC hold the deposit that I need to pay to the university?
- No. GEC will never ask you to pay University deposits into their account. In some countries we will hold bank drafts (made out to the University) until your visa has been issued. This is simply to make any refund easier, if you were not successful in getting a visa.
- 8. How successful has GEC been in placing students?
- GEC has been extremely successful in placing students from a variety of countries Worldwide. We have been able to place well over 2,000 students to Universities in the UK and Europe.
- 9. How can GEC help me if I get refused a visa?
- Being refused a visa can be a traumatic experience for students. GEC works very closely with British High Commissions and Embassies throughout the World. We will assist you as much as possible in resolving any issues that may arise with regards to refusals.
- 10. If I get refused a visa, will GEC refund me their fees?
- If you are refused a visa, the University will refund your deposit (some universities will make a small administration charge). However, the GEC fee is non-refundable.
- 11. Does GEC organise my accommodation?
- All our partner Universities provide accommodation for international students and usually guarantee accommodation for the 1st year of study. - 12. Will GEC pick me up from the airport in the UK?
- Most of our partner universities provide a free airport pick up service. Once you are given an unconditional offer, the University will inform of you of the date and times of this service and which airports they are providing this from.
- 13. Does GEC offer sponsorships?
- GEC does not act as sponsors for students but we have a Guardianship programme, for details click here to find you're nearest GEC office. You are required to find a sponsor who will cover your cost of tuition and living expenses when applying for your visa.
- 14. What help does GEC offer once I am enrolled at the University?
- We have offices in London and are in constant touch with our partner universities. Whatever issues may arise during your enrolment or beyond, you are always welcome to come and see us in London or contact us at london@geceducation.net.
- 15. What training does GEC staff have in placing students abroad?
- GEC staff Worldwide are very experienced in placing students abroad. In addition to having good academic backgrounds our counselling staff are regularly invited to the partner universities for training. In addition, our staff are involved with any local training available through organisations like the British Council.
- 16. Who can I complain to if I'm unhappy with the GEC staff in my country?
- GEC has a management structure that allows senior personnel to monitor customer satisfaction levels in each of our offices. If for any reason you are unhappy about an aspect of the service we provide, in the first instance, you are invited to discuss the problem with our local managers. If you wish to go further, then our in-country Directors along with Directors in the UK will be happy to help.
